Burton & South Derbyshire College academy on track for April opening

Burton and South Derbyshire College (BSDC) has announced that its new Construction and Sustainability Academy is on track to open in April 2012. The Academy is located on William Nadin Way in Swadlincote and covers an area in excess of 38,000 sq ft. Development is being led by CPMG Architects of Nottingham. Dawn Ward OBE, CEO and Principal of BSDC, said: “The rate at which our new state of the art Construction and Sustainability Academy is evolving has been amazing to see. I am also delighted to announce that development of the facility is both on time and on budget. The Academy will position BSDC learners at the heart of economic growth and skills development within South Derbyshire, and will ensure that their training and qualifications align to the future employment needs in our region. The Academy itself brings together a multi discipline approach to their vocational aspect of learning, partnered with state of the art technologies and teaching practices."
